The 2010 census data is in, and Santaquin is officially the fastest growing city in South County, with a population of 9,128. That’s more than 88% growth since the 2000 census! Growth brings its own challenges, and Santaquin is hosting a series of 13 neighborhood meetings in the next two months to present information on the proposed water reclamation facility. The City will receive $6.35 million in grant funding for the waste water project if it is approved by the voters in November. Residents will also be asked for their input on the direction they would like to see the City take in the future. The meetings will be held most Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m., June 28 to September 1, in the Senior Center, 45 West 100 South. Residents will be invited by mail to a specific meeting, but are welcome at any.
